MEJO 484 Projects:

Project 1

Utilizing Adobe Illustrator, I created an Infographic about the rising pop star, Chappell Roan – covering who she is, Spotify statistics, her outfits, and her recent rise to fame.

Project 2

Utilizing Adobe Illustrator, I created an Infographic about Matcha, including some history, hotspots in Japan, how matcha powder is made, how to make the matcha itself, and what you can do with it.

Project 3

Utilizing Adobe Illustrator, our 12-person class worked together to create an infographic-style magazine on any topic of choice. Wanting to think deeply into real-world issues, we all agreed on exploring the issue of Food Deserts/Food Apartheids in our local community, state, and nation. My spread is on page 4 (of 9) – featuring North Carolina with a Chapel Hill case study!

Project 4 (Final)

For the Final Project in MEJO 484, I was tasked with creating an outstanding infographic that revolved around a main illustration – of which was created using any atypical technique of our choice. For mine, I chose to stick with the autumnal season outside and do some mushrooms that I found interesting! To make the main illustration, I created each mushroom by sketching it on paper, scanning my sketch into Illustrator, and overlaying it on vector copies of the mushrooms. I then brought it into Photoshop to add highlights and shadows, as well as watercolor effects with different brushes and shading techniques I learned through outside research. Below is my completed infographic in PDF form!

MEJO 182 Projects:

Project 1

Using Adobe Illustrator for the first time, I created a logo using my initials (A.R.) with any theme of our choice. I went with a compass because it holds a deeper meaning in my family and in my sorority, and was a good segway to my approach in design: “Finding Your Path.”

Project 2

Using a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, we were tasked with creating two different graphics based on the same subject – any in-person event of our choice. While most of my peers chose pop concerts and sales for shops, I went with something a little more personal and decided to highlight the UNC Colorguard team’s spring training camp! Here are the two flyers I created:

Project 3

Using Adobe InDesign, we were tasked with creating a personal-style (yet tasteful) 6-spread magazine to feature Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire – which was a new release at this point in time. We were given 5 stories (but had to create our own headlines), some photos, and told to go nuts! Here is the 6-spread design I came up with:

Project 4

Using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, we were tasked with creating an infographic on anything of our choice. I chose tea! I did a lot of research on tea, confirming with multiple sources, and turned my topic into this:
